Description
Speciation of 239U and 239Np formed by the nuclear transformations 238U(n,γ)239U(→β-)239Np is reported. Various solid compounds, UO2(NO3)2.6H2O, (NH4)2U2O7, UO2(CH3COO)2.2H2O, UO2C2O4.3H2O, UO2(HCO2)2.H2O, UO2Cl2.3H2O, UCl4 and U(CH3COO)4, were irradiated in a thermal neutron flux of 1012 cm-2 s-1 and analyzed by HPLC. This study suggests that the migration of actinides should be limited for radwastes stored in organic reducing matrixes. (orig.)
