Description

We report on inelastic neutron scattering experiments on a CeCu6 single crystal using polarized neutrons to study the crystalline electric field (CEF) excitations. CEF levels have been detected at ω∼6.9 and 13.2 meV in close accordance to previous results. Our measurements yield new information about the transition matrix elements in the CEF Hamiltonian and will allow a reliable determination of the CEF parameters
