Decompositions of vector fields and spatial and or/dynamical symmetry problems

  • 1. Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Dubna (Russian Federation)

Description

In considering problems of mathematical physics with definite spatial and/or dynamical symmetries decompositions of vector fields by scalar potentials are used. These decompositions supplement the famous Helmholtz theorem and reduce its 'gauge freedom'. The most interesting applications of formulas which are represented here are expected to be in the theory of nonlinear equations with the vector fields. 15 refs
