Isotope resolution using plastic detectors

Description

With the measured etch-rate calibration parameters, the isotope resolution properties of various plastic detectors can be assessed. It is found that, in general, plastics can resolve the isotopes of lower-Z particles, a more sensitive detector is required to achieve the same resolution. (orig./WL)

Mit den gemessenen Aetz-Raten-Calibrierungsparametern koennen die Eigenschaften von verschiedenen Plastikdetektoren bei der Isotopenaufloesung abgeschaetzt werden. Im allgemeinen zeigt sich, dass Plastikdetektoren Isotope von hohem Z besser aufloesen als solche von niederem Z. Fuer Isotope mit kleinem Z ist bei gleicher Aufloesung ein empfindlicherer Detektor erforderlich. (orig./WL)
