This document contains safety-related specifications in the sense of the law on protection against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation (Radiation Protection Act) and the ordinance on protection against the harmful effects of ionizing radiation (Radiation Protection Ordinance), as far as the storage of other radioactive materials is concerned. This document is limited to requirements resulting from the special conditions for the storage of other radioactive materials. The otherwise applicable technical regulations, in particular those relating to radiation protection and civil engineering, are not affected. The classification of other radioactive substances for theft protection is based on the evaluation of the security of radioactive substances to be protected, using the HRQ values of the StrlSchV. This document has been prepared by the working committee NA 062-07-62 AA Radiation protection devices in the DIN Standards Committee for Materials Testing (NMP). Compared to DIN 25422:2013-06 and DIN 54115-7:2011-06, the following changes were made: a) normative references updated; b) terms updated; c) activity classes in anti-theft protection abolished and security levels introduced; d) contents of DIN 54115-7 incorporated; e) standard revised editorially.
