Description

Ionization beam cross-section monitor (BCSM) for measuring of accelerated beam parameters has been implemented and improved at INR RAS linac. Operation of the Monitor is based on utilization of residual gas ionization. The Monitor enables to observe beam cross-section, beam profiles and beam position, as well as their evolution in time in interactive mode within a wide range of beam intensities, energies and particle types. Below results of numerical simulation of registration process of images and estimations of its distortions, which are caused by beam space-charge and other various external and internal factors, are resulted, possible applications of BCSM for the accelerators FRIB Michigan State University and U-70 IHEP are discussed.
