Texture and stress state dependent creep in Zircaloy-2
Description
An experimental program was conducted to characterize creep strength differential (CSD) effects by the determination of differences in the magnitude of creep deformation in specimens under uniaxial tension and compression. The texture dependence of creep was also characterized. Tests were conducted at 325 to 400/degree/C and 69 to 172 MPa on specimens taken from the three principal directions of textured plate fabricated in both the recrystallized and the cold-worked, stress relieved condition. Stress relaxation tests were conducted at 400/degree/C on similar specimens. 29 refs
