XRF instrumental - components of XRF spectrometers
Description
Full text: A working XRF spectrometer comprises an number of interacting components including: an excitation source (commonly an X-ray tube), collimation devices, analyser crystals (wavelength dispersive XRF), detectors, counting electronics, vacuum, helium or air X-ray optical path. An understanding of the purpose and function of each of these components is required in order to understand XRF analysis and to be able to select suitable measurement conditions.
