Complex copper carbonates with cesium and rubidium
Description
Synthesis of 2Cs2x3CuOx8CO2x5H2O complex copper carbonate with cesium and rubidium (BCCC) was conducted. BCCC, as opposed to binary copper carbonates with Na, K and Rb, decomposes by water with abundant liberation of CO2 under normal conditions. Its synthesis is possible only at increased pressures of carbon dioxide in highly concentrated CsHCO3 solutions. Rb2Ox4CuOx4CO2x9H2O complex copper carbonate with rubidium (BCCR) was synthesized as well. It was established, that it is isostructural with binary copper carbonate with potassium, and like it, separates out of solutions in the form of fibrous modification at increased pressure of CO2. Synthesized compounds were investigated by the methods of thermal, X-ray diffraction analyses and infrared spectroscopy
