Use of the 208Pb(18O, 21O)205Pb reaction to measure the mass of 21O
- 1. Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd., Chalk River, Ontario. Chalk River Nuclear Labs.
Description
The reaction 208Pb(18O,21O)205Pb at E=93.0 MeV has been used to measure the mass excess of 21O; a value of 8.122+-0.075 MeV was obtained. This result, which differs by approximately 1.2 MeV from the previous value (9.3(+0.3-0.7)MeV), is in excellent agreement with recent shell model based mass predictions. (Auth.)
