Description
Investigations performed by the ALADiN Collaboration at the GSI at Darmstadt about the signals for a liquid-gas phase transition in nuclear systems is presented using nuclear calorimetry. By studying both peripheral and central collisions at intermediate and relativistic energies, it is possible to produce nuclear systems in different excitation regimes. Correlating the experimental measurements of excitation energies and temperatures the so-called nuclear caloric curve is discussed, together with the comparison between different nuclear thermometers.
