Nondestructive control of content of heavy element nuclei by neutron spectrometry
Description
The possibility of nondestructive sample control is demonstrated using the method of neutron transmission in the (0.1-30 eV) range of resonance energies. Some nuclei are identified for curium samples and quantitative content of 244Cm and 246Cm isotopes is determined for them. 1.8% of platinum according to the 195Pt resonance has been determined in one of the curium samples. Application of the neutron-spectrometric method is expedient for determination of the content of heavy nuclei including actinide and rare earth elements
