Determination and studies of uranium in human blood

Description
The fission track technique has been used to estimate the uranium concentration in blood of normal persons, U-exposed workers and leukemia patients in order to establish the statistical distribution of trace uranium in human blood. The mean U concentration in blood of healthy persons was (3.06±0.10) x 10-10g/ml; of U-exposed workers was (4.53±0.12) x 10-10 g/ml; and of leukemia patients was (7.74±0.15) x 10-10 g/ml, which was 2.5 times higher than the mean of normal persons. The advantages of the nuclear track technique are good sensitivity and selectivity. The blood samples were directly taken from finger (20μl)
