Transformation of laminated structure into equiaxial one under hot deformation of VT5-1 titanium alloy
Description
Investigation into transformation of laminated microstructure into equiaxial one under hot deformation is conducted using VT5-1, α-titanium alloy as an example. Acceleration of alloy microstructure transformation under hot deformation, as compared to annealing, results from formation of high-angle intergranular and interphase boundaries and with activation of diffusion and α→β polymorphic transformation in this case. Diagram for microstructure transformation under alloy deformation is suggested based on dislocation slip, diffusion creep and grain-boundary slippage which interrelations change during plastic deformation in favour of the latter mechanism
