Description
A large-scale high performance seismic simulating apparatus was delivered to the Nuclear Power Engineering Center by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. in July 1982 and has been operating since that time. This apparatus is the largest vibrating system extant that is excited both in the horizontal and the vertical direction simultaneously and is expected to bring highly accurate and reliable seismic test data for main and large nuclear power plant structures and to contribute to great progress in this engineering field. The main features of this apparatus are listed. Vibrating system: Computer controlled electro-hydraulic servo system Table size: 15 x 15 m Max. loading: 1000 tf Max. exciting force: 3000 tf (in horizontal direction): 3300 tf (in vertical direction) Frequency range: 0 -- 30 Hz (author)
