Description
N,N,N',N'-tetra-n-octyl diglycolamide, (TODGA) has shown high efficiency for extraction of trivalent actinides and lanthanides from acidic feeds. Generally 3 to 4 TODGA molecules participate in the formation of the reverse micellar structure, which facilitate metal ion extraction. We have been investigating multiple DGA - functionalized ligands, containing 3-4 DGA arms, for actinide extraction from acidic feeds. In order to study the effect of substituents and also that of the spacer length, two new benzene centred tripodal diglycolamide (Bz-T-DGA) ligands were synthesized with iso-amyl groups and also with methylene and ethylene spacers termed as TPAMTEB and TPAETEB, respectively and were studied for the supported liquid membrane transport of Am3+
