Relation between the multielement composition of human biosubstrates and atmospheric aerosols
- 1. Inst. khimicheskoj kinetiki i goreniya SO RAN, Novosibirsk (Russian Federation)
Description
High correlation has been revealed both between the content of chemical elements in human blood and atmospheric aerosols and between blood elements and food components. The element compositions of blood and hair as well blood and placenta have been established to be strongly related to each other. These biosubstrates can be used to estimate the health of the population of the northern hemisphere. Variability of the multielement composition of the blood and hair of the inhabitants of Novosibirsk, the Tundra Nenetz, Yakuts, Chukchi and the Eskimos, food components and aerosols in the regions where they live was determined by the SRXFA method. Atmospheric aerosol is major source of the trace elements, which enter the blood.
