Description
The paper published by Langmack and Barber (1992) presents the following important contributions to the method of preset counting channels for the measurement of radionuclide mixtures. (i) The calibration procedure given for a multichannel analyser with preset energy windows has a more general applicability, being equally suited for all the instruments mentioned above. (ii) A general solution is developed using the matrix formalism for a mixture with m radionuclides. (iii) A general, simple and qualitative error analysis is given. The author comments that the relationship for error analysis is incomplete. Letter-to-the-editor
