Breakthrough curve of H2-Ti-sponge adsorption system
Description
Experimental work concerning H2-Ti-sponge adsorption system has been undertaken at Kawasaki Heavy Industry Co. to obtain necessary data for the design of hydrogen removal tower (Ti-sponge trap) to be used as an purification component of a VHTR plant. In this study, the effects of equilibrium curve, H2 inlet concentration, and the ratio of the solid-side capacity factor to the gas-side capacity factor on the breakthrough curve were investigated. The Freundlich's equation with the diffusion model of Carter et al. was numerically solved by the Crank-Nicholson method, and the results of calculations are presented. The flow diagram and the photographs of the facilities for He gas purification experiments are also presented. (Aoki, K.)
