Hydrothermal synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of Cs2FeF5 x H2O

Description

Cs2FeF5xH2O monocrystals produced by hydrothermal synthesis were investigated. The crystal lattice represented the rhombic unit cell with centered C facet. The intensity of reflexes were measured and structure amplitude values were calculated. The diffraction symbol mmm C-c (space group Cmcm) was determined. It was found that one Fe atom enclosed in the octahedron of light atoms fell at two Cs atoms. The investigated compound contained 4 formula units. The obtained coordinates of atoms, temperature correction coefficients, and interatomic distances in the structure were presented. The investigation of magnetic properties Showed that at T=2.4+-0.1 K the phase transition from paramagnetic into antiferromagnetic state with magnetic anisotropy of light axis type took place
