Magnetic resonance angiography of intracranial vascular lesions

Description
Three-dimensional time-of-flight (3D-TOF) MR angiography (MRA) was performed in 88 patients (93 lesions) in whom intracranial vascular lesions were suspected. MRA findings of 48 lesions were compared with findings of conventional angiograms. In 7 cases, lesions were missed in MRA because of patient's motion, metallic artifact, insufficient spatial resolution and signal loss due to slow or turblent blood flow. In spite of these problems, MRA can provide useful information that complements routine spin echo (SE) images. (author)
