A two dimension position sensitive PPAC

Description
A two-dimensional positional sensitive parallel-plate avalanche detector (PPAC) with 100 mm x 100 mm active area has been developed for RIBLL. The detector consists of one anode and two cathodes. Each cathode position signal is readout with a resistance chain. The PPAC was tested at 700 Pa of flowing isobutane and +500 V at the anode, and an intrinsic position resolution of 0.76 mm (FWHM) was determined
