Foresight studies and decision-making in a carbon neutrality context: Three key methodological principles for a community of practice in France. Issue Brief No. 1, September 2021

Based on the experience of the foresight dialogues organised by IDDRI and Ademe since 2018, this Issue Brief proposes three key principles to guide the production and comparison of foresight analyses for decision-making, in the face of the methodological challenges posed by carbon neutrality. Key Messages: Principe 1. Extend the analysis to all transformations needed to ensure the widest range of options Principe 2. Reveal the conditions for transformations to take place in order to inform the actions to be taken Principe 3. Involve stakeholders to facilitate the identification of the role of each actor in the transition
