The energy calibration and precision of a gamma spectrometry unit - Method using the electron annihilation energy as the only standard
Description
Spectrometry using Ge(Li) detectors is discussed. The excellent resolution of this type of detector, the mathematical analysis of the spectral lines of the pulses, and the reproducibility of the spectrometer enable highly accurate measurements of the abscises (some 10-5) corresponding to the peaks. A method using the annihilation energy of the electron as the only standard was developed. The method is applied to the measurement of the gamma ray energies of the radioelements: 22Na, 24Na, 56Mn, 56Co, 59Fe, 72Ga, 88Y, 122Sb, 124Sb and 137Cs. (author)
Abstract (French)
Cet expose traite de la spectrometrie gamma avec detecteur Ge(Li). L'excellente resolution de ce type de detecteur, l'analyse mathematique des raies du spectre d'impulsions et la fidelite du spectrometre permettent de mesurer les abscisses des pics avec une tres grande precision (quelques 10-5). Une methode utilisant l'energie d'annihilation d'un electron comme unique etalon d'energie est developpee. Elle est appliquee a la mesure de l'energie des rayons gamma des radioelements: 22Na, 24Na, 56Mn, 56Co, 59Fe, 72Ga, 88Y, 122Sb, 124Sb et 137Cs. (auteur)Files
