Shielding properties of fibre cement wallboard
Creators
- 1. Royal Brisbane Hospital, Herston, QLD (Australia). Medical Physics Section
Description
Shielding is required around an irradiating apparatus to ensure radiation dose levels meet regulatory limits. Radiation transmission through common building products at diagnostic energies are available in the literature. Villaboard (wallboard) is sometimes used in hospital constructions, however to date, its shielding properties have not been published. In this note, transmission data through villaboard are presented for use in shielding designs at diagnostic energies. Copyright (1998) Australasian Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine
