The expansion of gas markets and trade in the world: potentialities and uncertainties

Description

This paper describes the expansion of natural gas market and trade in the world. After a study of demand and natural gas resources, a regional analysis is made in North America, Europe, Japan and Far-East, USSR, Africa and Middle East. In the last part of the paper, the growth of international trade of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and the economical constraints are also described, especially LNG transport by tanker ships or pipelines and the costs of supply. The great needs of investments for the next years are also presented. 6 figs
