Description
Objective: To study the significance of changes on plasma leptin and serum Hcy, Hs-CRP, IL-6 levels after treatment in elderly patients with acute cerebral infarction. Methods: Plasma leptin and serum IL-6 (with RIA) serum Hcy (with immune method). Serum hs-CRP(with high-sensitive turbidimetry) levels were measured in 33 elder patients with acute cerebral infarction and 35 normal controls. Results: Before treatment, plasma leptin and serum Hcy, hs-CRP, IL-6 Levels were significantly higher in the patients than those in controls. (P < 0.01). after treatment for 3 months, the levels of these laboratory items in patients were no more difference from those in controls (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Detection of above-mentioned laboratory test might possess important value to monitor the pathosis and progress of disease in elderly patients with ACI. (authors)
