Strength of the 2.3 μ CO band in weak-G-band stars
Description
Broad-band infrared magnitudes and intermediate-band CO indices for 29 weak-G-band stars in the field are presented. The (J - K) color indices of the stars correspond to those of early K giants, in agreement with descriptions of their spectra. All the stars display very weak CO absorption relative to field giants. This confirms a previous conclusion that the weak-G-band stars are deficient in carbon by large factors
