Description
Titanate (BaTiO3) barium is to date the most researched ferroelectric material. It is extremely interesting from the point of view of the science of the State solid, due to the fact that its structure is much simpler than any other known ferroelectric. The most outstanding properties that presents the barium titanate include stability both chemically and mechanically, at room temperature ferroelectric and dielectric properties. He is normally obtained through the mixture of oxides, TiO2 and BaCO3, obtaining is coarse, crystalline playoffs and requiring high temperatures for their synthesis. In this research is synthesized barium titanate with high nanometer, spheroidal morphology, particle size, purity and tetragonal crystal structure via Precursor polymer (Pechini) method. We studied different parameters involved in the synthesis, among them: the effect of the predecessor of barium and the pH of the solution on the tetragonalidad of the BaTiO3. In addition, determined the best temperature of synthesis material powder with desired microstructural characteristics. Sintered ceramic powder was characterized using differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetric (DTA/TG), infrared spectroscopy with transformed Fast Fourier transform (FTIR), diffraction of x-rays (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), and transmission (TEM) electron microscopy.
