Description

This report describes the calibration of the beam energy of the Large Electron-Positron Collider (LEP) at CERN for the 1991 running period. An intensive program of investigations and the utilization of resonant de-polarization of transversely polarized electron beams led to improved measurements of the mass, MZ, and the width, ΓZ, of the Z0 boson. The preliminary results are: MZ=(91.187±0.0035±0.0063) GeV and ΓZ=(2.492±0.0053±0.0045) GeV, where the first error is statistical and the second arises from the uncertainties of the energy calibration
