Mutual diffusion of cations in the systems Gd3Ga5O12-Gd3Fe5O12, Gd3Fe5O12-Y3Fe5O12
Description
It is established that in the course of interactions in the Gd3Ga5O12-Gd3Fe5O12 and Gd3Fe5O12-Y3Fe5O12 systems the reaction zones are solid solutions Gdsub(3)(Gasub(y)Fesub(1-y)sub(5)Osub(12) and (Gdsub(x)Ysub(1-x))sub(3)Fesub(5)Osub(12), respectively, in which x and y change from 0 to 1. In the diffusion zone of the Gd3Ga5O12-Gd3Fe5O12 system a region, in which the composition of Gdsub(3)(Gasub(y)Fesub(1-y))sub(5)Osub(12) solid solution has nearly constant concentration of Ga and Fe, is observed. With the temperature increase this solid solution is concentrated with Ga and its position shifts towards Cd3Ga5O12. The values of the mutual diffusion coefficients in the Gd3Ga5O1,L2-Gd3Fe5O12 system and in the Gd3Fe5O12-Y3Fe5O12 system are higher, than for Gd and Y, Ga and Fe mutual diffusion in the Gd3Ga5O12-Y3Fe5O12
