Description

Austenitic stainless steel of AISI-304 grade processed through powder metallurgy hot isostatic pressing route has shown extraordinary values of tensile ductility i.e. 60 - 70% while exhibiting tensile strength values comparable to those obtained by the conventional processing route. In the present study, yttria (Y2O3) particles of size 2 - 3 μm have been dispersed in the stainless steel (SS) matrix to enhance its yield strength
