Nature of the light variations of HD 188041
Description
Four-color (uvby) observations of the peculiar A star HD 188041 have been obtained at the Mauna Kea Observatory. A combination of flux redistribution from the ultraviolet and local line-blocking effects can explain the light variations of this star. It is suggested that new spectrum variables with compositions similar to that of HD 188041 can be discovered by uvby photometry. Key words: peculiar A star - photometric variability - line blocking
