Overview of occupational diseases in nuclear industry during 46 years

Description
This paper presents an overview of exposure to occupational hazardous agents and occurrence of occupationa diseases in nuclear industry during 1995∼2000. From 1987 to 2001, occupational hazardous agents were monitored for more than 80% of nuclear industry subsidary units, of which 80%∼90% were considered as being qualified. 20%∼60% of staff and workers accepted heath examination at a year regular. A total of 3344 cases were diagnosed as suffering from occupational diseases by the end of 2001, including occupational poisoning (21.4% of the total), pneumoconiases (74.4%), physical agent-caused diseases (2.7%), occupational dermatosis (0.4%), occupationa eye diseases (0.9%) and occupational ear-nose-throat disease (0.2%).
