Computer-aided incident mitigation: Use of graphic displays for pressurized water reactors
Description
As a complement to conventional information facilities, such as displays, recorders, etc., an information system based on computers and video display units is being installed in recent 1300 MW pressurized water reactor power plants. The function of this information system is to provide the operator with optimum information on plant conditions during normal operation and incidents or accidents. Over and above a straight presentation of process variables, the use of computers makes it possible to display conditioned information, which also assists the operator in elaborating accident strategies. Examples are used to explain the configuration and application of the information system and to describe its incorporation into the overall concept of incident mitigation. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Ergaenzend zu den konventionellen Informationseinrichtungen wie Anzeigen, Schreibern usw. wird bei neueren 1300-MW-Druckwasserreaktoren ein Informationssystem auf der Basis von Rechnern und Sichtgeraeten installiert. Dieses Prozess-Informations-System hat die Aufgabe, den Operateur nicht nur im Normalbetrieb, sondern auch in Stoerfallsituationen optimal ueber den Anlagenzustand zu informieren. Ueber die reine Darstellung von Prozessvariablen hinaus ermoeglicht der Rechnereinsatz die Anzeige von aufbereiteten Informationen, die den Operateur auch bei der Erarbeitung von Stoerfallstrategien unterstuetzt. Anhand von Beispielen werden Aufbau und Einsatz dieses Informationssystems erlaeutert, und die Einbindung in das Gesamtkonzept zur Stoerfallbehandlung wird dargelegt. (orig.)Additional details
