Description

Properties of bulk hydropressed dysprosium with 60% deformation degree are investigated within wide range of fields (up to ∼140 kE) and temperatures (4.2-290 K). Deformation homogeneity, high value of magnetization ≥ 36.8 kilogauss (≥98%, than possible) and high value of its homogeneity (better, than 10-4) by cross section are found. Magnetic phase diagram for hydropressed dysprosium close to that of dysprosium monocrystal is plotted using magnetization measurements in fields up to 54 kE within 4.2-290 K range. The investigated properties of bulk hydropressed dysprosium demonstrate its application possibilities as concentrator to generate high homogeneous magnetic fields
