Gamma radiation fields around the cooling circuits of the SEAFP Plant Model 1

Description

Three different methods for calculating the photon fluxes close to a contaminated coolant pipe have been employed. The results from analytical solution, Point Kernel summation and Monte Carlo simulation are essentially equivalent in cases where they can be compared. Having thus gained confidence in the Monte Carlo method, a full MCNP-4 photon transport treatment has been used to determine both the energy dependent photon fluxes and their resulting dose rates around the hot leg pipe and a steam generator of the SEAFP PM-1 cooling loop. Based on these dose rates, an annual ORE is estimated
