Probe holder
- 1. UKAEA Atomic Energy Research Establishment, Harwell. Engineering Projects Div.
Description
An ultrasonic probe for inspecting a weld between a cylinder and a pipe is caused to move in a holder at the end of an arm pivoted at a point on the axis of the pipe so that the line of transmission from probe penetrates the weld and, when projected beyond the weld, intersects the axis of the pipe for all positions of the arm. The probe may be used to inspect welds in nuclear installations. (author)
