Description
A diagnostic has been developed on TEXTOR to measure the intensity of the bremsstrahlung radiation in the visible range, allowing the study of the temporal behavior of Zeff(r) - the radial profile of the average ion charge in the plasma. First results of Zeff profiles for different TEXTOR plasmas (ohmic and ICRH, as well as co- and counter NBI-heated plasmas) are reported. (author) 9 refs., 6 figs
