Bituminization of low- and medium-level radioactive wastes

Description
French operations are presented concerning mainly: the bituminization of radioactive wastes produced in light water reactors; the direct bituminization of liquid effluents without concentration; the experiments carried out for 18 months on the land burial of concentrates solidified by bitumen into blocks of 100 liters. The knowledge acquired in France is exposed: in Valduc and in Saclay with facilities equipped with thin film evaporators and in Marcoule with the conditioning of trilaurylamine and tributyl-phosphate. At last the Cadarache bituminization

On presente les travaux francais portant principalement sur: le bitumage des residus radioactifs produits par les centrales a eau legere; le bitumage direct sans preconcentration des effluents liquides; l'experimentation d'enfouissement dans le sol pendant 18 mois de blocs de 100 l de concentrats solidifies par le bitume. On mentionne egalement l'experience acquise en France: a Valduc et a Saclay avec des stations equipees d'evaporateurs a couche mince et a Marcoule pour le conditionnement de trilauryllamine et de tributylphosphate. Enfin on decrit sommairement la future installation de Cadarache equipee d'une extrudeuse a double vis, dont la mise en service est prevue en 1977Files
