Description

The preparation, purification, biodistribution, blood disappearance kinetics and imaging characteristics of sup(99m)Tc-2,3-diamino propionic acid (sup(99m)Tc-DAPA) is studied. The latter three studies were conducted on rabbits as the experimental animal and the data thus obtained were compared with sup(99m)Tc-diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (sup(99m)Tc-DTPA) and 131I-orthoiodohippurate (131I-OIH) with a view to find a possible replacement of the latter radiopharmaceutical with a more convenient sup(99m)Tc based compound. Preliminary data indicates favourable results for sup(99m)Tc-2,3-diamino propionic acid which warrants further investigation. (author)
