Characteristics of gridded energy analyzers in relatively dense plasmas

Creators

  • 1. Utsunomiya Univ. (Japan). Dept. of Electr. and Electron. Eng.

Description

When a gridded energy analyzer is used in a relatively dense plasma, it is experimentally found that the characteristics of the analyzer can be heavily affected by the space charge of particles accumulating behind its entrance grid. As a result, the ion energy distributions observed may be largely deformed by the space charge effect. (orig.)
