In vivo characterization of myocardial beta-adrenergic receptors using positron emission tomography

The present study has shown that myocardial beta-adrenergic receptors may be identified and characterized in vivo by using positron emission tomography. The most important parameters necessary for an univocal characterization of these receptors (saturability, specificity, high affinity, correlation with a pharmacological or a physiological effect) have been clearly demonstrated in dogs

Cette etude a montre qu'il est possible de caracteriser les recepteurs beta-adrenergiques myocardiques in vivo par la tomographie par emission de positons. La validation des criteres necessaires a l'identification d'un recepteur (saturabilite, specificite, haute affinite, correlation avec un effet pharmacologique ou physiologique) a en effet ete effectuee chez le chien
