Determination of the relative elongation on the yield plateau
Description
The influence of initial dimensions of tensile test specimens as well as bending radii and the forms of transfer from the sample head to its working part on the overall length of the yield plateau has been investigated for steels with a deltasub(UPSILON) physical yield limit. It has been established that there is a direct connection between the overall length of the yield plateau and the design length of cylindrical and flat tensile test specimens. Determination methods have been advanced and substantiated as well as a condition of comparability of the overal and relative elongation on the yield plateau by the initial diagrams of stretching cylindrical and flat samples of arbitrary sizes. A connection is observed for the steels investigated between relative elongation on the yield plateau and deltasub(UPSILON)
