Behavior of high-speed alkali-metal vapor flow around plate accompanied by condensation
Creators
- 1. Hokkaido Univ., Sapporo (Japan). Faculty of Engineering
Description
The physical field around the low-temperature plate which is set normal to alkali metal vapor flow with Mach numbers 0.82 and 1.31 is simulated by the direct simulation Monte Carlo method. The simulation covers a range of Knudsen numbers 0.25 to 0.025. It is confirmed that an effective condensation occurs on the upstream side of plate, which a small amount of evaporation occurs on the downstream side of plate because of low temperature and number density of the vapor in the region.
