Effects of sample agitation in the determination of radon concentration using the liquid scintillation method

Description

The determination of radon concentrations in water through the liquid scintillation technique is influenced by the degree of sample agitation which affects the rate of transfer of radon of the aqueous to the organic phase. The results of this study showed that vigorous sample agitation such that both phases are momentarily blended, is enough to assure that the maximum counting efficiency is achieved. (author)
