Description

The decision to close the Berkeley Magnox nuclear power station in 1988 is reported and the implications for the other Magnox plants in the UK are discussed. Conflicting accounts of the economics of those stations, as derived by the CEGB and Friends of the Earth are reported. Finally the contrasting experience with the Scottish generating boards is discussed. (U.K.)
