Using oxide films for electron microscopy of microstructure of zirconium and zirconium base alloys

Description

To study the microstructure of zirconium and alloy Zr-2.5%Nb by the electron microscopy method use has been made of oxidized films obtained by oxidizing the tested specimen. It has been pointed out that the oxidized film has a strongly pronounced structure that to a certain extent reflects the microstructure of the substrate metal to be oxidized
