United-Kingdom, a pragmatic energy transition

Creators

Description

As the United Kingdom is the first European oil producer and second European gas producer, but as these resources are being depleted, this article comments the British energy policy: hydrocarbons are still indispensable; the country is still very confident in nuclear energy (as shown by the Hinkley Point EPR project in which EDF in involved, and other projects by Toshiba); the country possesses a huge potential for the development of renewable energies (wind energy particularly, but also marine energies) but financial aspects are still to be solved; the country is notably well advanced in energy savings
