Surface channeling of protons and electrons on reflection by monocrystals

Description

The 0.67 MeV proton and 1 MeV electron reflection by the Au monocrystal (110) facet at the psi < psisub(cr) disorientation angles of the falling beam with the [100] direction, lying on the surface, is investigated by the modelling at the computer. The angular distributions and proton and electron reflection coefficients are compared. Several maxima are obtained in the angular distributions. Besides the maximum of screen reflection at THETA=psi there is a maximum for protons equal to THETA > psi and for electrons THETA < psi. The maxima in angular distributions are explained by multiple scattering at atom chains on the crystal surface. The analytical approximation of reflection coefficient of Ksub(cor)(psi) correlatively scattered protons is given. The large contribution into the reflected flux of particles, channeling in the surface layer permits to use them for structural analysis of crystal surface
